The Poppy gives you two independent boost circuits in a single 125B enclosure, each with a different circuit topology and tonal character. The Red side is an op-amp design with a sweepable frequency bump for surgical tone shaping. The White side uses JFET transistors with a Baxandall bass/treble EQ for a warmer, more amp-like boost. Internal voltage doubling to 18V ensures clean headroom at high boost levels. Use them independently, stack them, or place them at different points in your chain using the extra I/O jacks.
Key Features
- Two independent boost circuits with different topologies in one 125B enclosure
- Red side: Op-amp boost with Boost, Tone, and Bump controls
- White side: JFET boost with Boost, Bass, and Treble (Baxandall EQ)
- Internal voltage boost from 9V to 18V for maximum clean headroom
- Extra input and output jacks for placing each side at different points in your chain
- Stack both sides for drive and saturation

Red Poppy: Op-Amp Boost with Frequency Bump
The Red side offers clean, transparent boost with a twist: the Bump control adds emphasis to a specific frequency band, and the Tone knob selects which frequency gets the boost. This turns a simple boost into a tone-shaping tool. Push the mids for cut in a band mix, boost the treble for sparkle on cleans, or add low-end warmth before an overdrive pedal. The bias-based gain control provides as much clean headroom as possible, so it stays transparent even at high boost levels.
White Poppy: JFET Boost with Baxandall EQ
The White side uses JFET transistors for a warmer, more amp-like feel. The Baxandall-style Bass and Treble controls provide smooth, musical EQ shaping without harsh resonant peaks. This makes the White Poppy particularly effective in front of a tube amp, where the JFET characteristics complement the amp’s natural response. Crank both sides together and the Poppy transitions from clean boost into warm, natural-feeling drive.
Flexible Routing
Like the Lupine, the Poppy includes extra I/O jacks so you can place each boost at a different point in your signal chain. A common setup: place the Red Poppy before your drive section as a clean level boost and EQ shaper, and the White Poppy after your drives or in your effects loop as a solo boost. Each side can also be set to default to on or off at power-up by holding the footswitch while plugging in power to toggle the setting.
